Juniata's Win Streak Ends at Six
Eagles come up short against Scranton
Huntingdon, Pa. – The Juniata men's tennis win streak came to a halt against the Royals of Scranton, Monday afternoon. Despite the loss, however, the Eagles still stand at 12-5 overall, and 4-2 in the Landmark Conference. Beyond that, this was only the first home loss for Juniata all year.
The Eagles were not able to take any matches from the Royals on the day, but they still received strong performances from several of their players. The Eagles came close to stealing some matches from Scranton in doubles play and were especially bright in the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
Juniata's strongest performance came from senior Brice Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) who fought valiantly before eventually falling in the No. 4 position. After dropping the first set, Morey rallied to take a set of his own, before losing in a tiebreaker. Freshman Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) was also tough in a loss in the No.5 position, pushing his competition to a 7-5 set before eventually coming up short.
The Eagles will look to bounce back tomorrow against Penn St.– Altoona on the road at 3:30 before returning home on April 20th for their final home match of the year against Catholic.
