BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata College men's tennis team moved to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in the Landmark Conference with their win over Moravian, Saturday afternoon. The win marked the Eagles' sixth win on the road this season and their fourth straight conference victory in a row. Beyond that, the 12th win marks the sixth straight victory for Juniata and represents the second highest single season win total in program history.
The Eagles struggled in doubles play, losing two out of three matches on the day. However, senior Tucker Good (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) and freshman Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Academy) were impressive as a pair. With the Eagles dropping the other two matches, Good and Lifshitz secured an important win for Juniata in the third doubles match.
That victory helped the Eagles rally in singles play, where they eventually secured their twelfth win. Juniata was paced by their strong junior class yet again. In the No. 1 position Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. In the No.2 position, Wisniewski's fellow junior Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) followed suit, also winning in straight sets. Senior Brice Morey (Enola, Pa. / East Pennsboro) was also outstanding on the day, adding to an impressive senior campaign with a 7-5, 7-5, victory in the No. 4 position
The Eagles will look for their record-tying thirteenth victory against Landmark Foe, Scranton University. The match will take place at home against the Royals at 3:30 pm on Monday, April 15th.
