SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College men's tennis team extended their four game win streak to five games Tuesday with a sweep over Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna. The Eagles are now 11-4 overall, marking their highest win total since 2008, and 3-1 in the conference.
The Eagles were dominant in singles play on the afternoon; winning all of their matches in straight sets. Juniors Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) set the pace for Juniata on Tuesday. In the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively, the two members of head coach Jason Cohen's junior class led the way for four other straight set victories.
Juniata had to battle for their victories in doubles play. Wisniewski and his doubles partner, senior Brice Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) won a hard-fought match by a score of 9-7 while freshman Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) paired with senior Tucker Good (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) earned an equally tough 8-6 victory.
The men will try and extend their streak to six games and set the second highest single season win total in program history when they face Moravian on Saturday. The match will take place at 9 a.m. on the road against the Greyhounds.
