Men’s tennis drops 9-0 decision to defending Landmark champion Drew University

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College men's tennis had its hands full on Saturday afternoon against defending Landmark Conference champion Drew University, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Rangers on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts. 

Junior Ross Imbrie (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) came the closest to picking up a point for the Eagles (3-10, 0-3 Landmark), after falling to Drew's Matt Imbo at no. 5 singles, 6-7 (7-4), 6-4, 10-6. Freshman Scott Andrews also played a tough match against Victor Kolarov at no. 6 singles, but eventually lost 6-3, 3-6, 10-2. 

In doubles play, the Juniata tandem of Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) battled hard against Drew's Raul Smego and Elliot Smego at no. 1 doubles, before the Smego brothers came away with a 9-8 (7-5) win. 

Juniata returns to action on Monday, April 10, when it hosts Stevenson University in a non-conference matchup. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
