Men’s tennis falls to Lebanon Valley, 9-0

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Sophomore Andrew Hoffman (Blain, Pa./Susquehanna Township) and freshman Brice Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) each turned in strong performances in their singles matches, but could not quite carry a win as Juniata College dropped a 9-0 decision to Lebanon Valley, Tuesday afternoon on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

Hoffman took his opponent, Andrew Deckert, to a tiebreaker in the first set and then a supertiebreaker for the match, before eventually falling, 6-7 (7-5), 6-2, 10-5, at no. 5 singles. Morey and Deckert had already squared off once earlier in the day, when Deckert and partner Kyle Kahl posted an 8-4 win over Morey and Andrew Hiller (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) at no. 3 doubles.

Morey also required a supertiebreaker in his no. 3 singles match against LVC's Ethan Grodzinski, but eventually lost 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.

Juniata fell to 0-4 with the loss, in its final match of the fall portion of the 2009-10 schedule. Lebanon Valley improved to 2-0 with the win.
