ANNVILLE, Pa. – Juniata College swept all six singles matches to complete an 8-1 victory over Lebanon Valley College, in men's tennis action Friday afternoon in Annville, Pa.
The Eagles (8-1) sweep in singles was led by Jonathan Skoner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic), who logged a 6-2, 6-2 victory at #1 singles over Lebanon Valley's Matt Grodzinski. Skoner teamed with Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) in an 8-3 win at #2 doubles, while Ross Imbrie (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) and Tucker Good (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) had an 8-2 win at #3 doubles.
Imbrie also won his #6 singles match over Kyle Kahl, 6-0, 6-2, while Rhodes was victorious at #5 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman), Ryan Navarro (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle), and Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) also won singles matches for Juniata.
The lone Lebanon Valley win was at #1 doubles, where Jared Zeigler and Jon Gingrich narrowly downed the Juniata tandem of Silver and Chakrabarti, 9-7.
Juniata will compete on Saturday and Sunday at the Landmark Individual Tournament, hosted by the University of Scranton.
