HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Coming off a 9-0 loss over the weekend at Catholic University, the Juniata College men's tennis team was looking to take out its frustrations on the court against somebody.

The Eagles did exactly that against Susquehanna University, as Juniata swept all six singles matches on their way to an 8-1 victory over the Crusaders on Tuesday afternoon at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts in Huntingdon, Pa.

The Juniata pairing of Jonathan Skoner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) and Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) got the afternoon started with an 8-2 win over the Crusaders' Dillon Plunkett and Andrew Symonette at #2 doubles, while Ryan Navarro (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) and Casey Chew (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) downed Susquehanna's Kirk McAuliffe and Cory Prescott at #3 doubles.

The Eagles (4-9, 2-3 Landmark) swept through all the singles matches, with three matches requiring a third-set tiebreaker: Skoner at #2 singles, Navarro at #3 singles, and Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) at #4 singles. Chakrabarti's match went the longest, with the freshman pulling out the win at fourth singles, 4-6, 6-1, 11-9.

Susquehanna's (1-8, 1-4 Landmark) lone victory came at #1 doubles, where Todd Adams and William Mellor defeated Chakrabarti and Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman), 9-7.

The Juniata women's team will play host to Susquehanna on Wednesday afternoon at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts. Both teams will then return to action on Saturday, April 12, when they face the United States Merchant Marine Academy in matches in Kings Point, N.Y.
