Greyhounds Top Eagles

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata men's lacrosse team dropped a conference matchup against Moravian 23-8 Saturday afternoon on the road.

Kolton Black totaled three goals with one assist, Aiden Duran added two goals and one assist, while Beaux Wojciechowski, Vincent Bechler, and Reuben Stoll each tallied one goal. 

Black kicked things off for the Eagles as Duran wrapped around the crease to find him on the right side. Black pulled back and found the net. Moravian totaled six goals after that. Black found his second goal with two minutes to go in the first quarter. Wojciechowski cut the deficit to three with a goal after beating his Greyhound defender and ripping a shot into the net.

Bechler was the only Eagle to score in the second before the Greyhounds added five to their scorebook. Less than a minute into the second quarter, Wojciechowski connected with Bechler, who turned a fired one in. JC headed into halftime down 11-4.

Picking up a groundball, Stoll took off and fought past all of the Greyhounds' defense to pick up his first goal of the season in the third quarter. Black scored his third with less than nine minutes to go. Moravian tallied seven more goals in the third. 

Duran's goals came in the fourth quarter. His first of the game came from Black, who was swarmed by defenders, leaving Duran open on the right side. Duran found a gap and buried the ball away. Duran worked past the Moravian defense to get his second goal. The Greyhounds scored five times in the fourth.  

Justin Toney tallied 16 saves, while Ryan Madison totaled four. Brandon Simonini added five groundballs, while Duran and Matt McCleary each had four. Bechler and Stoll totaled two caused turnovers each. 

The Eagles host Drew on Saturday, April 29, at 1:00 pm to wrap up their 2023 season.
