Eagles Break Landmark Conference Save Record In Loss at Drew

Eagles Break Landmark Conference Save Record In Loss at Drew

MADISON, N.J.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-10 contest on the road at Drew Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium in Landmark Conference action.

Justin Toney (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) made 26 saves in goal for the Eagles, and Ryan Madison (Wilmington, Del. / Conrad School of Science) came in to make nine for a total of 35 which is a Landmark Conference record. It is a record for all Landmark schools across nonconference play as well as conference contests.

Jack M Loucks (Toronto, Canada / Minden) scored four goals for the Eagles, while Aiden Duran (Walden, N.Y. / Valley Central) found the back of the net twice. Jake Rivoir (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields), Jacob Wallman (Arbutus, Md. / Western Tech) and Kolton Black (Mount Airy, Md. / South Carroll) scored a goal apiece while Vincent Bechler (East Brunswick, NJ / East Brunswick) chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Loucks scored two goals in the first eight minutes of the game to give the Eagles an early advantage, but the Rangers responded with four over the next five minutes to take the lead. Bechler launched one in half the deficit but Drew scored the final goal of the quarter to push their advantage back to two.

The second quarter saw Drew score first, and the teams trade goals throughout, with Wallman and Black getting on the scoresheet for JC. The Rangers had the final goal of the half and led 8-5 at the break.

The third quarter saw Drew morph into world-beaters as they scored eight unanswered to start the half, including three goals a man-up to push their lead to 11. Duran got one back but Drew again answered as they led 17-6 heading into the final quarter.

The Eagles won the final quarter 4-2, with Duran and Rivoir scoring one each and Loucks striking twice to complete the scoring.

Juniata will travel to Elizabethtown to play next Saturday at 1:00.
