Nick Rigby Recognized as Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete for Men's Basketball

TOWSON, Md.- Juniata senior men's basketball standout Nick Rigby has been the Landmark Conference's Senior Scholar Athlete for Men's Basketball. It's the sixth time the program has seen a player earn the honor, and it's the fourth time in six seasons.  

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. They are chosen at the end of each sport season. 

Rigby was preceded by Jack Holsopple (2020), Brandon Martinazzi (2019), Marcus Lee (2018), Brian Scholly (2014), and Jeff Berkey (2010).  

This season, Rigby appeared in all 28 games with two starts, serving as one of the side's most consistent options off the bench. He was third on the team in field goal percentage (47.9%) among players who saw at least ten minutes per game, third in free throw percentage (78.7%), third in points per game (7.7), and fourth in rebounds per game (3.4). 

Over his collegiate career, Rigby appeared in 87 games, starting in 30. He totaled 591 points, 95 rebounds, 34 assists, and 16 steals while posting a 49.7% field goal percentage, 26.6% three point percentage, and 74.7% free throw percentage.  

In the classroom, Rigby holds a 3.93 cumulative GPA and has appeared on the Landmark Academic honor roll twice. His P.O.E. (Program of Emphasis) is in Finance.
