Eagles Fall 70-57 to Merchant Marine, Move to 7-5 in Landmark Play

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Juniata men's basketball team fell on the road to Merchant Marine 70-57 Saturday evening.  Juniata dropped to 15-8 overall, 7-5 Landmark with the loss.

 

The Eagles were led by juniors Brian Scholly (State College, Pa./State College)and  Jeremy Hays (McMechen, W. Va./John Marshall).  They finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

 

Juniata ended the first half on a run to pull within one (27-26), but Merchant Marine came out of the break hot and led the rest of the way to earn the win.


The Mariners were led by Reed Buck who finished with 23 points.

 

Juniata returns home for its final two games of the regular season.  They take on Susquehanna University this coming Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center.  The Eagles defeated Susquehanna 70-86 when the programs last met. Despite the Crusaders owning the long-term rivalry 77-58 all-time, Juniata has won two of the last three meetings.
