Landmark Conference announces change to MBB All-Conference team; Juniata’s Brian Cannon moved to first team

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Landmark Conference has announced a change in the 2007-08 men's basketball All-Landmark Conference, following discovery of a clerical error by the conference office.

The change, which comes after a miscalculation of a ballot, moves Juniata senior forward Brian Cannon (Fallston, Md./Fallston) to the first-team after he was originally named to the second-team. Due to the error the first-team will include seven student-athletes for 2007-08. The traditional All-Conference team consists of a first and second team, with six players on each team, and the selections made by position by the eight conference head coaches.

"He's the most complete player I've ever coached – a great teammate, and an unbelievable leader," said Greg Curley, Juniata College head men's basketball coach. "His efforts have led directly to our success over the last couple years, and I just hope I'm fortunate enough to get the chance to coach another kid just like him before I'm done."

Cannon currently leads Juniata with 18.3 points per game, and ranks second in the Landmark Conference and 90th in Division III in scoring. Cannon's team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game places him fifth in the league among rebounding leaders. His 495 points this season places him third among single-season scoring leaders, and gives him 1,365 career points to rank fifth among all-time scoring leaders at Juniata. Cannon has 563 career rebounds, and he is just the fifth player in Juniata history to record both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
