Knights Best Eagles

GLENSIDE, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team suffered a 5-1 defeat on the road at Arcadia University Monday evening at JLW Field.

The Knights controlled play early, and Brittney McMullen was called upon in the seventh minute to make a save. Arcadia found the back of the cage a minute later and led 1-0 after one.

The second quarter started with Juniata getting on the attack as Colleen Creneti had a shot blocked, and 37 seconds later, Creneti scored off an assist from Hannah Moore. The Knights would retake the lead three minutes later and continued to be a threat.

McMullen made a double save in the 25th minute, but Arcadia struck once more as the Eagles trailed 3-1 at halftime. The Knights held a nine to two edge in shots and a six to two edge in penalty corners.

Arcadia scored two more in the third quarter to complete the scoring. Amanda Puza came in for the final 20 minutes in goal for the Eagles.

McMullen made five saves in the game for the Eagles.

Juniata will host Elizabethtown this Saturday at 1:00.
