HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team dropped an 8-0 decision to #8 ranked Messiah, Wednesday evening at Knox Stadium. 

The Falcons struck three times in the first, as they were efficient with their shots. They put five of their seven shots on goal, with Nicole Piccioni (Richfield, Pa. / Midd-West) denying two of them.  

The second period saw the Falcons strike twice more. The first one was a loose ball in front of the cage that Makayla Malcolm managed to smack in to complete her hattrick. She tallied her fourth by latching onto a pass that carved through the JC defense and launching it into the cage to make it 5-0. Messiah tacked on one more as the Eagles trailed by 6-0 at the break. 

The Falcons struck twice more in the second half to complete the scoring.

Juniata will compete again this Saturday on the road at DeSales, with the game beginning at 1:00.
