Juniata Field Hockey To Host Gold Out Game on Wednesday

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team will host Messiah on Wednesday night at Knox Stadium. The Eagles will also be having a Gold Out game.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the international symbol is the gold ribbon. The team will wear gold ribbons on their shin guards. The Mini-THON club will be also giving out 25 free headbands to the first 25 students at the game and accepting donations.

Later in the school year, Juniata will also host a Mini-THON. Mini-THON's are modeled after Penn State's 48-hour dance marathon, which raises awareness and funds that are donated to the Four Diamonds Fund. The Mission of Four Diamonds is to conquer childhood cancer by supporting children and families treated at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital both financially and emotionally. They also provide funds for research.

A Facebook page has been set up where donations are already being accepted. Go to https://www.facebook.com/Juniata-College-Mini-THON.
