Bilheimer Selected as Second Team All-American

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Senior Sarah Bilheimer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) continues to add to her postseason awards as she was named a Second Team All-American by two separate organizations. Bilheimer was recognized by both Synapse Sports and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

 

Bilheimer is the eighth field hockey player in Juniata history to receive All-American honors. She is the first player since Meghan McGlone in 2010 to make the NFHCA Second Team and is the second one to be named by Synapse Sports after Juliane Jones following last season.

 

Bilheimer recently completed one of best seasons in the history of the field hockey program. She totaled 21 goals and assisted on 10 others for a total of 52 points. Her goals and points rank as the third best in a season for the Eagles. She scored a career-high four goals versus Goucher on October 24 which ties for the second-most in a game and tallied four assists against Drew on September 26 that is tied for the most ever in a contest.

 

For her career, Bilheimer scored 46 times, dished out 28 assists, and amassed 120 points. Her goals and points are third highest while her assists are second best. She became the fourth Eagle to reach the 100-point mark on October 20 with a three goal and one assist performance versus Moravian.
