Late Goal Downs Eagles 1-0 at Susquehanna

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Susquehanna University scored a goal with three minutes remaining in regulation to down the Eagles field hockey team 1-0 Wednesday night.  Juniata (6-5, 1-1 Landmark) outshot the Crusaders 11-3 in the game but could not find the back of the cage as Susquehanna (3-8, 1-2 Landmark) picked up its first Landmark Conference win of the season.

Senior Janelle Howard (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) spent the full 70 minutes in cage for the Eagles.  She and the defense held Susquehanna to just two shots in over 66 minutes of play.

Erica Reichart's goal in the 67th minute was the Crusaders only shot-on-goal in the win.

Juniata continues its conference road stretch at Moravian College on Saturday, Oct. 6.  The match will be played at Rocco Calvo Field starting at 1 p.m.  The Eagles defeated Moravian 2-0 last year and are 5-0 in the past five years against the Royals.
