Eagles Soar Past Golden Wolves

READING, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team won convincingly on the road at Alvernia University, 12-3, Monday afternoon. 

Hunter Thomas got the win, pitching 7.1 innings and allowing three runs on four hits with six walks and three strikeouts. 

The Eagles got on the board first, pushing three runs across on one hit. They scored two of the runs on a wild pitch, while Connor Blough hit an RBI single to left. JC added another run in the third on Charlie Bakken's fielder's choice, which scored Joey Woodrow. 

The Golden Wolves got two back in the second and pulled within one on an RBI single to left in the bottom of the sixth. 

Blough led off the seventh with a single through the left side, Dakotah Snyder followed with a single up the middle, and both runners advanced on a balk. Two batters later, Woodrow cleared the bases with a double down the leftfield line to put the lead back to three.

Juniata blew the game wide open in the ninth, scoring six runs on eight hits. 

Woodrow went 3-5 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Blough was 3-4 with two RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Tim Coleman had a double, two walks, and two runs scored. Michael Warren was 1-5 with two RBI and a run scored, and Corey Daniels was 1-2 with an RBI, a double, three walks, and two runs scored. Robbie Pliszka entered in relief midway through the eighth and went 1.2 innings, walking two and striking out two. 

Juniata will host Susquehanna on Wednesday at 3:30.
