High Flying River Hawk Offense Topples Eagles

High Flying River Hawk Offense Topples Eagles

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team lost a pair of games at Susquehanna, 11-4 and 13-6, Friday afternoon at Bollinger Field.

The pitchers were in control through the first three innings, with Jack Dovidio only allowing three hits. The SU pitcher held the Eagles to one hit from David Beard

The River Hawks broke through in the fourth, scoring five runs, three of which came on a three-run homer to right.

The Eagles put two on the board in the top of the fifth, on a Joey Allegrini double to left that plated Joey Woodrow and the other via Beard's sac fly to right, which saw Allegrini tag up from third. SU scored on an error in the bottom half of the inning to push the lead back to four, 6-2.

Two more Eagle runs in the top half of the sixth came on Woodrow's fielder's choice, which scored Michael Warren, and Chatram Persaud's single to left, which scored Jackson Cunnane

The hosts scored twice more in the seventh and one more in the eighth on a solo homer to complete the scoring.

Allegrini went 1-3 with a double, a RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Cunnane went 2-4 with a run scored.

Game two saw the Eagles start out strong as they scored four runs on four hits in the top of the first.

Warren drove in Daniels to increase the lead to five in the second.

Susquehanna got on the board in the bottom half of the second and retook the lead with five runs on four hits as the Eagles trailed 6-5 after three.

A big sixth inning pushed the River Hawk lead to seven at 12-5.

Beard drove in Eric Soccio to complete the Eagle's scoring. SU scored one more in the eighth, which completed the scoring, 13-6.

Evan Mock went 4-4 in game two, with a triple, two RBI, and a run scored.

The Eagles will take on SU Sunday at 2:00.
