Cross country hosts Juniata Invite, led by Morgan and Alter

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College men’s and women’s cross country teams had six top 15 finishes at the Juniata College Invitational on Saturday morning at Fort Roberdeau in Altoona, Pa. 

The women finished first amongst seven scored teams with an average 6k-race time of 24:59.80. Juniata was led by Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) who finished third overall with a time of 23:13.40 and Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) who came in fourth with a 23:35.10 time.

The men finished fourth amongst six teams and was led by Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), who finished his 8k in 27:09.90 to complete the race in fourth place overall. The men ran an average time of 28:05.86. 

Haley Scheider (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and Alyssa Cousins (State College, Pa./State College) finished 12th and 13th respectively and had times of 25:31.40 and 25:39.90. 

Freshman Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) was the only other Juniata runner to get into the top 15 with a 15th place finish, his best of the season, and a time of 27:53.70. 

Both the men and women travel to the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on Saturday, September 29.
