LORETTO, Pa.- The Juniata women's cross country team placed second with 50 points at the St. Francis Opener.

Azia Kalil (Bedford, Mass. / Methuen HS) finished fourth with a time of 21:03.3, Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) finished 11th with a time of 23:14.1, and Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished 14th with a time of 24:08.8. Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) finished 15th with a time of 24:21.5, Abigail Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished 17th with a time of 24:36.8 and Madison Steigman (Hamden, Conn. / Hamden High) finished 18th with a time of 24:45.8. Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS) finished 25th with a time of 27:17.6 and Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) finished 27th with a time of 28:21.0. 

The Eagles return to action September 14th for the Catholic Invitational.
