TOWSON, Md.- The men and women's swimming teams travelled to Goucher College, Saturday for a tri-meet against Goucher and The University of Scranton.
On the women's side, they started off with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team consisted of Krista Peachey, Meghan Brubaker, Alex Fontes, and Emily Angeline coming in with a time of 2:11.35. Next, Angeline finished the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:08.57. In the 200-yard freestyle Brubaker finished with a time of 2:25.58.
Peachy finished in fourth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.17. Brubaker finished the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:52.59. Fontes put up an impressive 200-yard butterfly time coming in first by four seconds with a time of 2:24.85. Peachy (28.67), Danielle Ochs (41.69), and Eliis Irv (43.12) competed in the 50-yard freestyle.
Peachy finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.13 while Ochs finished 10th with a time of 1:40.65. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Fontes put in another strong performance coming in second with a time of 2:51.86. In the 500-yard freestyle Angeline came in with a time of 6:22.68. In Fontes final swim of the day she finished with a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly coming in one second ahead Scranton with a time of 1:04.38. Brubaker finished out her day with a fifth-place finish in the 200 yard IM coming in with a time of 2:44.84.
On the men's side, Jackson Hoch finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.06. He then finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.70. Hoch finished off the day with fourth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle coming in with a time of 5:53.50.
The Eagles return to action Saturday, where they will travel to Division II Kutztown University for a meet at 1:00.
