Kutztown Defeats the Eagles on Senior Day

THE HEADLINE: On Juniata's senior day, honoring Elise Kury (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), the Eagles fell to Kutztown University 147-86.

FIRST PLACE FINISHERS: Emily Angeline (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) won the 400-meter freestyle when she finished with a time of 5:25.01.

In the next event, sophomore Jocelyn Skelly placed first in the 100-meter butterfly with her time of 1:13.09. Krista Peachey (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) then finished in the same event at 1:20.06.

Freshman Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) went on to take first in the 200 IM when she finished at 3:00.07.

RELAYS: The meet began with the 200-meter medley relay. Juniata's team consisted of Elena Diaz de Marco, Nadia Moss (Narragansett, R.I./St. Margaret's School, Va.), Angeline and Maiya Mastovich (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop). Mastovich in the last leg hit the wall about twenty seconds out of first place, as they recorded a time of 2:35.56.

The last event of the day was the 200-meter freestyle relay. Juniata took first and second, marking times of 2:09.25 and 2:20.17. The first relay team consisted of Emily Stahl (State College, Pa./State College Area), Skelly, Peachey and Angeline. The second was Brubaker, Diaz de Marco, Kury and Moss.

UP NEXT: The Eagles will be on the road for the rest of the 2016-17 season. Their next meet is against conference-rival Elizabethtown on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m.
