Juniata Drops First Match of the Season on the Road

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's soccer team picked up its first loss of the season at Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon, 2-1.  The Eagles moved to 6-1-1 overall with the loss.  Saint Vincent improved to 6-1.

Rose Lucidi  found Alicia Snyder straight on in the 84th minute.  Snyder drilled in a shot from 25 yards out to get the Eagles on the board.

Neither team could find their offensive rhythm as both programs combined for just nine shots on goal during the match.  Juniata did not allow the Bearcats a single corner kick for 90 minutes and outshot Saint Vincent 3-1 in the second half.

The Eagles return home this Monday, Sept. 24 for a 4 p.m. match against Westminster (Pa.).   The last time the two met, Juniata fell 1-0 after the Bearcats scored a goal with less than six minutes to play in the match.
