HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's basketball team went cold in the second quarter and couldn't recover as they lost to Moravian, 76-52, Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium.

Cassie Mock (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central Martinsburg) swished a triple a little over a minute into the game for the Eagles. The Greyhounds converted two free throws, Gracie Stauffer (Loysville, Pa. / West Perry) scored inside off a nice post entry pass from Grace Long (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) to make it 5-2. The Greyhounds scored inside twice to take the lead, with a Stauffer free throw making it 8-6 with just over five minutes to in the quarter.

Moravian rattled off six straight points in the next two minutes before Madison Colyer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) went to the line and made two foul shots. The Greyhounds converted two more free throws to go up 18-8, Averie Hess (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore) scored inside off the glass while being fouled and the free throw made it 18-11 with a minute to go. She split a pair of free throws in the final 15 seconds as Juniata trailed 18-12 after one.

Moravian scored the first six points of the quarter prior to Hess drilling a jumper nearly three minutes in. The Greyhounds added another five before Stauffer's layup made it 31-16 with three and a half to go. The visitors closed the half on a 7-0 run as they went into the locker room ahead, 38-16.

The second half saw Juniata hang close as they were only outscored by two, 38-36, but they couldn't make up the deficit from the first half.
