Mark Wolf

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker in the second overtime period, 3-2, to Moravian, Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

Eight minutes into the match, the Greyhounds broke through as they sent home a loose ball after Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) made a save.

In the 22nd minute, Blake Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) crossed the ball to Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal / Mercersburg Academy), and he volleyed the ball into the net to knot the score at 1-1.

Three minutes later, the Greyhounds retook the lead off another rebound they slotted home as they went into the locker room ahead 2-1.

Moravian held a 10-3 edge in shots in the first half.

Nine minutes from the end of regulation, Mark Wolf (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) curled a free-kick around the wall and past the keeper to send the game into overtime.

Three minutes into the first OT, Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa. / Shipley) beat the last defender and fired a shot towards the Moravian goal, but it went over the crossbar.

In the last two minutes of the final period, the Greyhounds again got to a loose ball in the box and tapped it in to grab the win.

The Eagles will return to action, next Saturday at 1:00.
