Men's Soccer Falls to Grove City 4-0

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Juniata's men's soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season after their 4-0 loss against Grove City on Saturday.

 

Eagles' goalkeeper Logan Tackett (Herndon, Va./Herndon) tallied ten saves on 11 shots on goal during 70 minutes of play. The freshman saved five within the first ten minutes, letting one by in the 14th minute.

 

Senior Dani Meyer-Arrivillaga (Durham, N.C./Carolina Friends) made two on-target, yet saved, shots in the first half, leaving the score 1-0 at the half.

 

Juniata appeared more aggressive at the beginning of the second half, getting off two shot attempts by the 51st minute. Freshman Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) came into goal in the 70th minute. He saved two, yet let up three goals, making the game 4-0 Grove City.

 

Juniata totaled seven shots with three shots on goal, while Grove City totaled 31 shots with 16 shots on goal.

 

The Eagles' play at Knox Stadium for the first time in 2016 against University of Pittsburgh-Bradford on Wednesday, September 7 at the newly built Gibbel Stadium. Game time is set for 5:30 PM.
