Austin Ankney is a traditional post player who will look to help facilitate the Eagle offense this season. He has worked hard on the skills of his game this offseason and is looking to have a solid year in the post. His strength and size from the post position will help facilitate the offense with his solid screens and rebounding and alter opponents' shots on the defensive side. Ankney will look too use his leadership and work ethic to help the team reach its potential this season.

2010-2011: Ankney led the team in rebounds with 103, averaging in 4.3 per game...had the team high for rebounds in eight games...led the team in scoring in the victory over Penn State Mont-Alto on November 19...started in 20 of 24 games he played in...averaged 7.8 points per game...shot 54.4 percent from the floor, 79.4 percent from the line...had a career best of 10 rebounds in a win against Lycoming College on December 7...had a career best of 20 points in a win against Penn-State Mont Alto on November 19.

2009-2010: Played in 23 games while starting nine... averaged 3.8 points a contest while grabbing 2.6 rebounds a game... shot a team high .532 from the floor... led the team in rebounding in two different games, first with six in the opening game of the year at Division II Seton Hill on Nov. 16. Then he grabbed five at #6 F&M on Nov. 28... had a career best 13 points at Susquehanna on Feb. 20, adding six rebounds... also had a career best seven rebounds in a 109-78 victory over Hilbert College on Nov. 20.

2008-2009: Played in 20 games and averaged 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game... had a career high eight points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of work against Scranton on January 30.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter at the post position at Somerset HS for coach Scott Close... an All-Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference selection as a senior... set a new Somerset record for career rebounds... selected to play in both the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat Senior Hoops Showcase and the Altoona Mirror Basketball Classic... a National Honor Society member at Somerset... named to Who's Who Among American High School Students, the National Society of High School Scholars, and was a United States Achievement Academy All-American Scholar.

PERSONAL: Son of Dave and Ginger Ankney... POE is Physics with a secondary emphasis in Math.
