HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team edged Washington & Jefferson, 2-1 in their final non-conference game of the regular season on a rainy Wednesday at Knox Stadium.

The first half was scoreless as Juniata held a 2-1 edge in shots over Washington & Jefferson. In the third minute, Audrey Marker Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area H.S.) tried to tap in the ball after a corner but it went just wide. To start the second quarter, Sarah Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) took a shot from the arch after a corner but that shot also went wide. 

In the 30th minute, the Eagles scored their first goal of the game on the Presidents. After an Eagles corner, Grace Kuszmaul (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) passed the ball to Olivia Marker (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area HS) from the left side to lead, 1-0. 

A minute later, the Eagles striked again as Marker passed the ball from the left goal line to Sarah Bryer (Burke, Va. / Robinson) to extend JC's lead, 2-0. Bryer tallied her first career goal as an Eagle. 

W&J finally got on the board in the 58th minute of the game to close in on the Eagles lead. 

Juniata will travel to Scranton this Saturday at 1:00 pm.
