HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Goucher in conference play on Saturday.

Grace Alexander Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) scored two goals while Sarah Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg), Catherine Lanigan (Parsippany, N.J. / Parsippany HS), Olivia Marker (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area HS), and Madison Miller (York, Pa. / West York) each scored one apiece. G. Alexander, Lanigan, Marker each tallied an assist. 

In the ninth minute of the game, the Eagles started off the scoring. The Goucher goalie slid to stop the ball leaving the goal open for Lanigan to assist Marker from the left side. 

A minute later the Eagles striked again. G. Alexander passed the ball to Miller who fired the ball from the top of the arch to extend Juniata's lead, 2-0. 

Juniata finished out the first quarter with a 3-0 lead over Goucher. G. Alexander brought the ball down the field to tap in the ball into the bottom right side of the goal. 

In the 23rd minute, S. Alexander shot the ball from the left just inside the arch to go up, 4-0 Juniata. 

Three minutes later, the Eagles went up, 5-0. A shot by Marker deflected off the goalie to Lanigan's stick. Lanigan then put the ball into the bottom left corner of goal. 

In the third quarter in the 38th minute, Juniata scored their final goal of the game to win, 6-0. Marker assisted G. Alexander who slid the ball in just past the Gopher goalie. 

Juniata held a 17-3 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corners. 

The Eagles host Susquehanna for a conference game, Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 pm.
