Eagles End 2023 with Four PRs at Mid-Atlantic Regionals

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Juniata women's cross country team concluded the 2023 season with four 6K personal records set at the NCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Lock Haven University.  

Rebecca Christophel knocked 1:16.9 off her previous best from the Aubrey Shenk Invitational at Gettysburg in October, finishing the event in 24:28.0 for a 104th-place finish from the field of 204. Camille McRoberts set the next-best time for Juniata, marking her collegiate debut with a 26:17.2, good enough for 159th place. Justice Sheaffer removed 1:01.9 from her September time at Lock Haven, finishing in 26:53.1 for 172nd place. Reagan Goldsmith finished two seconds off her personal record, completing the event in 27:14.7 in 176th place. Beck Mensch PR'd with a 29:04.1 to finish 191st, completing Juniata's team score. Her previous best was a 29:52.3 set at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational at Gettysburg in October. Gillian Dell also set a new best, clocking in with a 30:20.6 in 198th, an improvement of nearly five minutes from her Landmark Championship time. 

Juniata finished the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in 28th place. 

Christophel, McRoberts, Mensch, and Sheaffer will all make the transition to the indoor track and field season with competition about one month away. Christophel and McRoberts will be mid-distance competitors, Mensch will do distance events, and Sheaffer will throw for Juniata. They'll open the indoor season at Susquehanna University on Saturday, December 9th.
