Women's Cross Country Starts Season at 5k Father Bede Invitational

TYRONE, Pa.- The Juniata women's cross country team started the 2023 season with the five-kilometer Father Bede Invitational hosted by Saint Francis. 

Rebecca Christophel posted the best time by Juniata on the day with a 24:23.9 for an 83rd-place showing from the field of 114.  

Freshman Justice Sheaffer was the best of Juniata's runners making their debuts. She logged a 25:47.4 to finish in 94th place. Ashley Anderson claimed 102nd place with a time of 30:10.4, while Beck Mensch was one spot behind with a time of 30:15.7. 

The Juniata women's cross country team returns to competition in a week's time, Friday, September 8th, as they host the Landmark Conference Championship Preview meet, an eight-kilometer race on the Sunset Golf Club course that will play host to Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships in October.
