Women's Cross Country Takes 22nd at NCAA DIII Mideast Regionals, Kalil Earns All-Region Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata women's cross country team placed 22nd overall at the NCAA Mideast Regionals hosted by Muhlenberg College, Saturday. Senior, Azia Kalil (Bedford, Mass. / Methuen HS) earned all-region honors for her 15th place finish.

Kalil was the top finisher for the Eagles as she finished 15th with a time of 22:16.6. Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) finished 116th with a time of 24:01.0, Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) finished 139th with a time of 24:18.1, and Abigail Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished 182nd with a time of 25:10.2. Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished 183rd with a time of 25:17.3, Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) finished 218th with a time of 26:01.1, and Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS) finished 226th with a time of 26:12.1. 

Kalil, Freimuth, Herwig, Echard, Barge, and Aragon all ran personal best times while Barnes ran a season best time.
