Women's Cross Country Takes Fourth at Landmark Championships

Azia Kalil and Yannibel Collado were the top finishers for the Eagles.

LEBANON, Pa.- The Juniata women's cross country team placed fourth at the Landmark Championship, Saturday morning at Union Canel Tunnel Park. The Eagles totaled 106 points.

Leading the Eagles with a fourth place finish was Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) coming in with a time of 23:23.24. Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey (Pa.)) finished 11th with a time of 23:52.81, Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) finished 30th with a time of 25:06.74, and Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished 35th with a time of 25:21.11. Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) finished 37th with a time of 25:29.03, Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) finished 49th with a time of 26:18.63, Amanda Preston (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / East Pennsboro) finished 53rd with a time of 26:43.67, and Alli Goulden (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Krolls) finished 54th with a time of 26:44.99. Abigail Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished 59th with a time of 27:12.32, Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) finished 62nd with a time of 27:25.85, and Sarah Melgar (Portage, Mich. / Portage Northern) finished 67th with a time of 28:21.42. Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS) finished 68th with a time of 28:27.52, Lydia Heishman (Keezletown, Va. / Spotswood) finished 70th with a time of 28:46.28, and Rachel DesFosses (Verona Island, Maine / George Stevens Academy) finished 72nd with a time of 29:00.43. 

Kalil was named to the Landmark All-Conference first team while, Collado was named to the Landmark All-Conference second team.
