Women's Cross Country Tabbed Fifth in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's cross country team was selected fifth in this season's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Elizabethtown was selected first and received five first place votes with Moravian in second, Susquehanna in third, and Scranton in fourth. 

This season the Eagles will be returning eight runners. Juniata has five of their top seven runners returning for this upcoming season. One of the Eagles top returners, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) was named to the Landmark All-Conference second team after her performance at last year's Landmark Championships. Joining Kalil among the returners are Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS), Elese Christ (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottsgrove High), Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey (Pa.)), Abigail Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin), Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff), Alli Goulden (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Krolls), and Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS)

The Eagles start off their season this Friday, August 31st as they travel Bucknell.
