Juniata Places Ninth at Lock Haven Invitational

Lock Haven, Pa. - Juniata's women's cross country team placed ninth out of 18 schools at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24. Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS), and Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y./Milton Hersey) were the first three Eagles to cross the finish line during the women's 6k run.

Sacks has led the Eagles in their contests so far. She finished 23rd out of 206 runners on Saturday with a time of 23:27.60, her season best.

Kalil, also a freshman, was the second to finish for Juniata. Her time of 24:06.10 put her 40th in the race.

Collado was only five seconds behind Kalil (24:11), finishing 45th. Collado was less than a minute shy of her personal best, set at last year's Lock Haven Invitational (23:37.3).

DeSales Invitational on Oct. 8 is the next event for the women's cross country team.
