Juniata Women Place Fifth at Landmark Championships

HUNTINGDON, Pa. –The Juniata women's cross-country team came in fifth at the Landmark Conference Championship hosted by U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday. The overall winner was Elizabethtown followed by Susquehanna, Moravian, Scranton, and Juniata.  

Sophomore Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa. / Northern Cambria) came in 10th place with a time of 23:57.64. She was just edged out by Elizabethtown's Coleen Kernan, who was ninth.

Kopera was followed by freshman Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) in 14th place, running a time of 24:29.61. Senior Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa. / Oley Valley) finished the race in 27th place with a time of 25:33.31, and freshman Meaghen Stewart  (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) followed in 48th place with a time of 26:56.40. Vanessa Hurst (Ephrata, Pa. / Ephrata) finished in 59th place in 27:46.
