Women's Cross Country Takes Eighth at St. Vincent

LATROBE, PA - The Juniata women's cross country team finished eighth out of 17 teams at St. Vincent Saturday morning. Allyson Kopera (Hastings, PA / Northern Cambria) finished first for the Eagles with a time of 20:23.8, placing 21st

In her first collegiate race, Yannibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) placed 33rd with a time of 20:57.5.  Freshman Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, PA / Hempfield Area) finished with a time of 22:08.9 in 62nd place, followed by senior Jecenia Duran (Temple, PA / Oley Valley), in 63rd.

Like Juniata's men's cross country team, missing the meet at Bucknell last weekend had an impact on the women's team.

"Today showed us where we are and what we need to do to improve," head coach Jon Cutright said.

The Eagles race next Saturday at Lock Haven University.
