HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Seniors Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) and Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) of the Juniata College cross country team were named Landmark Conference Runners of the Week, the league announced Monday.  This is the first time since 2009 that Juniata has swept the cross country honors.  The pair broke program records at the Lock Haven Invitational last Saturday, running the fastest times of any Landmark student-athlete this season.

This is Alter's first weekly conference honor.  He placed 17th in a field of 244 runners at Lock Haven and was the top Landmark finisher.  Alter helped lead the men to a 7th place finish at the invite.  His time of 25:55.0 in the 8K beat his previous career time by over 45 seconds.

Woods' time of 21:44.2 also broke the Landmark 6K record set back in 2009.  She is only the second women's runner to break 22 minutes in the 6K in Landmark history. She finished third overall out of a 231 runners and owns two of the top three times in the Landmark this season at the distance.  This is Woods' second runner of the week nod this season, fourth of her career.

Juniata cross country continues its season on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Father Bede Invitational hosted by Saint Francis University.
