Elite Eights and Tigers, Oh My! Women's Volleyball to take on Trinity Tigers

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata College women's volleyball team has been seeded second heading into the national quarterfinals, where they will face off against seven-seeded, 31-4, ranked 11th in the America Volleyball Coaches Association coaches poll Trinity University, in the NCAA Division III national quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 29th, in Claremont, California.

The five p.m. EST match will take place within Claremont Mckenna College's Roberts Pavilion, which will hold all three days of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships. 

The winner of the Juniata-Trinity match advances to the national semifinals (Final 4) on Thursday, November 30th, at 8:00 p.m. EST. The national championship match is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd, at 7 p.m. 

Wednesday's other quarterfinal match on this side of the bracket features 32-4 third-seeded New York University vs. 32-4 sixth-seeded University of Northwestern at 11:30 a.m. EST.  

On the other side of the bracket, 37-1, first-seeded University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will take on the host, 25-5 eighth-seeded Claremont Mudd Scripps, at 10 p.m., EST. The other matchup is 30-2 fourth-seeded Hope College vs. 28-4 fifth-seeded Johns Hopkins University at 7:30 p.m EST.  

This is Juniata's 33rd appearance in the national quarterfinals and the fourth time in five years.    

Juniata heads into the quarterfinals 32-0, having won the Huntingdon, Pa. Regional this past weekend and their 42nd consecutive (16 straight Landmark) conference championship the week before.  

Juniata is 16-5 all-time against Trinity, with the most recent matchup occurring in last year's National Championship game, in which Juniata prevailed 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-23). The Tigers are the last team to beat the Eagles on September 16th, 2022. 

Head coach Heather Pavlik has led Juniata to four appearances in the Elite 8. Pavlik's career record is 343-68 in her 13th season as head coach at her alma mater.
