Eagles Roll Past Raiders

ALLIANCE, OH- The #1 Juniata women's volleyball team swept Mount Union, 3-0, Friday evening inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.  

Two Mackenzie Coley kills, an ace from Mia Schubert, and an error by the Raiders put the Eagles up 4-0. Mount Union hung around, with kills from Lily Podolan and a block by Olivia Foley and Coley, making it 15-8. The Eagles maintained the lead the rest of the way, with Kennedy Christy's kill ending set one, 25-15.   

The Eagles had their most efficient set, hitting the ball in the second as they hit .364 on their way to another 25-15 win to go up two sets to zero.  

The third set was the tightest, with the Raiders nipping at the Eagle's heels the entire time. A kill and a JC error late in the set made it 21-19. Coley tallied a kill and a solo block to put Juniata back ahead by four. Two Mount Union kills sliced the lead to two, but that would be their final points of the match. Christy mashed a kill to give the Eagles match point, and a block from Foley ended the match, 25-21.  

Muth had a match-high 11 kills (.458) with a dig and two block assists. Foley totaled 38 assists, 12 digs, three kills, two aces, a solo block, and a block assist.  

Juniata will play a pair of matches tomorrow, Muskingum at 2:00 and Baldwin Wallace at 4:00.
