Women's Volleyball Breaks Program Record for Consecutive Wins with 43rd Over Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA.- The #1 Juniata women's volleyball team moved to 4-0 in Landmark Conference play after winning at Lycoming 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-13) Tuesday evening.

The win is the 43rd overall, spanning back to September of 2022, the longest streak in program history. The previous record was 42, held by the 1996 and 1993 teams.

With the score at 10-7 in the first set, an Audrey Muth kill followed by three straight Olivia Foley aces push the Eagle lead to seven. The Eagles only allowed the Warriors to score three more times the rest of the set, with a Mackenzie Coley kill ending the set 25-10.

The second set opening with a block by Emily Sullivan and Maggie Hayes, a kill from Hayes, two consecutive Sophia Repholz aces, an error by Lycoming, another Hayes kill, and a pair of Repholz aces had the Eagles up 8-0. JC cruised through set two, closing on an 8-1 run to win 25-8. Repholz was a menace from the service line, amassing seven aces in the set. That's tied for the tenth most in program history and tied for the sixth most in the rally-scoring era.

The third set saw the Warriors hanging around midway through the set, pulling within five, 18-13. Four errors by the Warriors and three kills from Simone Barry ended the match in favor of the Eagles, 25-13.

The Eagles, 16-0 overall, travel to take on Mount Union on Friday at 2:00.
