JC fought valiantly, getting within one several times, with the final time on a Foley kill at 23-24. But an error ended set one, 23-25.

Set two, with the score at 9-9; the Eagles blitzed John Carroll with seven consecutive points that featured kills from Muth and Christy, a block by Lily Podolan and Coley, an ace from Christy, and a couple of Blue Streak errors.
