Eagles Will Face Virginia Wesleyan Friday in NCAA First Round

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The NCAA selection committee released the 64-team field for the upcoming Division III Women's Volleyball tournament on Monday. 

Juniata will travel to the campus of Christopher Newport in Newport News, Virginia for regionals this Friday through Sunday, 15-17. The Eagles earned an automatic bid to their 39th consecutive NCAA Tournament when they swept Susquehanna University in the Landmark Championship game this past Saturday. 

The four seeded Eagles will face #5 Virginia Wesleyan of the Capital Athletic Conference, Friday at 12:30. The Marlins enter the tournament 28-7 and emerged victorious in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship Game after upending Randolph-Macon, 3-1. The Eagles and Marlins are joined at the top of the bracket by top-seeded Trinity University (TX) and #8 CUNYAC winners Hunter College. The winners of each match will play one another at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

On the other side of the bracket, #3 Randolph-Macon will take on #6 Marymount while host and second seed Christopher Newport will take on #7 Stevenson University. 

 

The regional final will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
