Women's Volleyball Ranked 14th in AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Juniata women's volleyball team is ranked 14th in this week's AVCA Coaches Top-25 Poll after being tied for 14th in last week's poll.

Over the weekend, Juniata competed in the DeSales Invitational held at DeSales University. The Eagles opened up the weekend with a 3-0 win over Cabrini on Friday. Emma Davis (East Berlin, Pa / Dover Area HS) amassed 12 kills (.500) to go with three aces, three digs, and a block assist in the sweep of Cabrini. Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) added 13 kills (.393) and a solo block. On Saturday, Juniata defeated DeSales, 3-1 and SUNY Canton, 3-0. Against DeSales, Makenna Hallager (Glenolden, Pa. / Merion Mercy Academy) tallied a career-high 26 digs while Aly Reardon (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West HS) had her first career double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs. Against SUNY Canton, Abigail Luensmann (Altoona, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis H.S.) tallied 22 assists, seven digs, four kills, four aces, and a block assist. 

Freshman, Davis was named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. 

Juniata competes in the Wesleyan (Conn.) Invitational this weekend. The Eagles start off on Friday against Wesleyan (Conn.) at 7:00 pm.
