BALTIMORE, Md.- The Juniata women's volleyball team pushed their winning streak to five as they swept aside conference foe Goucher, 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-23), Wednesday evening at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.

The first set saw the Eagles up a 10-3 lead as they seized control early. Kills from Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) and Moira Folan (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Oakland Catholic HS) along with a Gopher error made it 3-0. The teams traded points as Taylor notched another kill for the Eagles before an ace from Makenna Hallager (Glenolden, Pa. / Merion Mercy Academy), a kill from Dejia Danhi (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge), another Hallagher ace along with a bad set from the hosts made it 9-2. Back to back errors made it 10-3, and Juniata's lead only increased as they won handily 25-15.

Early in the second set, with the score at 4-4, the Eagles went on a blistering 12-0 run that essentially ended the set. It started with a Goucher service error, Emma Davis (East Berlin, Pa / Dover Area HS) notched a solo block, and Aly Reardon (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West HS) tallied an ace, Davis added a kill, Abigail Luensmann (Altoona, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis H.S.) had a solo block of her own, Davis tacked on her second solo block, Taylor added a kill and Goucher committed three straight to make it 14-4. Another kill and a block from Davis capped the run as Juniata went on to win, 25-11.

The third set was by far the closet as Goucher kept things tight and held a 21-23 lead late in the final set as they tried to keep the match going. Kills from Davis and Reardon tied the score before an attack error gave JC match point and Lauren Levi (Oregon City, Ore. / Oregon City HS) sent the Eagles on their way back to Huntingdon with one final kill.

The Eagles will take on Cabrini at the DeSales Invitational, Friday at 5:00.
