Women's Volleyball Ranked 7th in AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Juniata women's volleyball team is ranked seventh in this week's AVCA poll after being ranked sixth for the last three weeks. The team also received one first place vote in the poll for the first time this season. 

Over the weekend, the Eagles travled to Randolph-Macon for the R-MC Invitational. The Eagles swept the weekend going 3-0 against Messiah, Randolph-Macon, and Washington & Lee. 

On Friday, October 12th, Juniata defeated Messiah, 3-0. Marybeth Weihbrecht (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) had 10 kills while hitting .667 with a solo block and a block assist. Dejia Danhi (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge) tallied 10 kills as well while hitting .600 with two block assists. On Saturday, October 13th, the Eagles defeated Randolph-Macon and Washington & Lee. Against, Randolph-Macon senior Katie Byrne (Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) recorded her 2,000 career dig, the fifth person in program history to do so. Against, Washington & Lee Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) had 11 kills, four digs, a solo block and block assist and freshman Makenna Hallager (Glenolden, Pa. / Merion Mercy Academy) had a match high four aces and nine digs. 

The Eagles travel to Elizabethtown tonight for a 7:00 PM conference match.
