Moroney Named Landmark's Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md.- Juniata College women's volleyball standout Megan Moroney (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) has been named the Landmark's volleyball senior scholar athete.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. They are chosen at the end of each sport season

Recently, Moroney was been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team and will be forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades. She was also named to the Landmark All-Conference second team and received Landmark Academic Honor roll honors. 

On the court, Moroney has played in 125 matches and 405 sets over her four year career. She has recorded over 1,000 kills, getting her 1,000 kill this season in the Landmark semifinal match against Moravian. This season, she was third on the team with 199 kills (1.93 per set) and third in assists with 500. She has also totaled 48 digs and 89 total blocks this season. 

Academically, Moroney has a 3.79 cumulative GPA. Her P.O.E. is math with a secondary emphasis in business.
