Moroney Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Senior Megan Moroney (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team. 

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their 2017 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Teams on Thursday which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. This is Moroney's third selection after being named to last year's All-District Team.

On the court, Moroney has recorded 199 kills (1.93 per set) which is third for the Eagles. She has tallied 500 attacks, 48 digs, and 89 total blocks. During the Eagles Landmark conference semifinal match against Moravian, Moroney recorded her 1,000 career kill. 

Academically, Moroney has a 3.79 cumulative GPA. Her P.O.E. is math with a secondary emphasis in business. 

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in December.

 The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.
