TOWSON, MD.- Senior middle hitter Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week. This is her first weekly honor of the season.

Gearhart had a strong weekend for the Eagles. In three matches, she hit .482 with 29 kills and five service aces. She had a team-best .625 hitting percentage as Juniata defeated Goucher 3-0 on Saturday. Gearhart also contributed on the defensive end with 14 total digs with eight of those digs coming in JC's 3-0 win over Catholic that clinched the top seed in the Landmark Tournament

Gearhart's 197 kills leads the Eagles and she is averaging 2.7 per set. She is third in both service aces and total blocks with her 25 service aces representing a career high.
